When Excellence
Meets Excellence

How Audison Helped Power Boating Magazine’s Boat of the Year

Every component of the VOCE II line has been developed with the same meticulous methodology that made Thesis world famous, using advanced acoustic simulation software and a rigorous phase of comparative listening tests, both in the lab and in cars. This refinement process ensures that VOCE II delivers uncompromising audio performance, while remaining practical and versatile for high-end car audio enthusiasts.

Premium audio
built for demanding environments

For over 40 years, Audison – part of the Elettromedia family of premium audio brands – has engineered premium audio systems for some of the world’s most demanding acoustic environments. From high-performance automotive applications to globally recognized immersive entertainment venues, our technologies are trusted where precision, efficiency, and reliability are non-negotiable.

When Tigé Boats and Audison joined forces to push marine audio into entirely new territory, we knew we were building something the watersports world had never experienced before.

That partnership just earned validation at the highest level: Boating Magazine named the Tigé Ultré ZX their 2025 Boat of the Year in the Watersports category. Selected by editors with over 200 years of combined boating experience, the award recognizes boats that “advance the state of the art of recreational boating.” And Audison’s marine audio system played a crucial role in that achievement.

Engineering Sound for Open Water

Building the best audio systems for wake boats presents challenges completely unlike automotive or venue applications. Consider the environment: constant vibration, water spray, UV exposure, temperature extremes, and the distinct acoustic challenge of delivering clear sound both inside a moving vessel and to riders 100+ feet behind it.

Our solution required rethinking everything we knew about pro-audio design.

Audison Amplifier Technology

At the heart of every Audison-equipped Tigé is advanced Audison amplifier technology, engineered around high-efficiency Class-D topology, refined thermal management, and intelligent power supply architecture. The result is effortless, dynamic output that feels virtually unlimited, without placing unnecessary stress on the boat’s electrical system. In a wake boat environment where ballast pumps, actuators, displays, and lighting systems demand constant power, the audio system must deliver impact without compromise. Audison’s amplifier efficiency allows the Ultré ZX to produce up to 4,400 watts of clean, controlled output while maintaining system stability and supporting battery longevity. The experience is not simply louder. It is more dynamic, more controlled, and more immersive, with power that feels natural, stable, and never strained.

Crafted to Complement, Engineered to Perform

Early in our partnership with Tigé, we faced a design challenge that perfectly illustrates why this collaboration works. Tigé’s design language is clean, modern, and sophisticated—the opposite of the traditional marine aesthetic that dominates most wake boats. They needed speakers that could deliver world-class sound while looking like they belonged in a luxury yacht. So we built them from scratch. Working directly with Tigé’s design team, Audison created custom marine speakers that integrate seamlessly with the boat’s interior styling. Advanced composite materials provide
acoustic performance while withstanding UV exposure and the elements. The grille designs complement Tigé’s interior rather than fighting it.
Audison speakers deliver full-range sound with wider off-axis coverage than traditional marine speakers. This matters more than most people realize. In a moving boat with people constantly shifting positions, conventional speakers create dead zones where sound quality drops dramatically. Audison’s wider dispersion pattern ensures consistent playback whether you’re driving, lounging on the bow, or standing in the cockpit.

The 100-Foot Challenge

Here’s where marine audio gets genuinely difficult: delivering clear sound to a wakesurfer or wakeboarder riding up to 100 feet behind a moving boat.

Think about the physics working against you. The sound source—the tower speakers—is moving forward while the rider follows behind. Wind noise, engine sound, and water spray all interfere. And the rider needs to hear the music clearly enough to stay locked in.
Most wake boat audio systems solve this by simply cranking volume until the sound reaches the rider. This works, technically, but creates harsh playback and distortion.
Audison took a different approach. Each speaker is professionally tuned to emphasize clarity and mid-range definition without distortion. The result is true, room-filling sound that follows you everywhere on the boat—from the captain’s chair to the surf wave.

Why Exclusivity Matters

Tigé Boats is the exclusive wake boat manufacturer to feature Audison audio systems. This focused partnership allows both companies to engineer solutions with intention – integrating audio architecture directly into hull design, electrical infrastructure, and interior aesthetics.
Every Audison-equipped Tigé reflects a shared commitment to performance-driven luxury and design integrity. Our marine positioning mirrors our global philosophy: partner selectively, engineer deliberately, and elevate the category rather than participate in it.

At the OEM level, audio should never be an afterthought or an accessory. It’s part of the architecture. When you design sound into the boat from the beginning—aligning power delivery, dispersion, tuning, and aesthetics—you create an experience that feels effortless. That’s the difference between adding speakers and engineering a system.

The Industry Spoke. Boating Magazine Heard.

When Boating Magazine announced their 2025 Boat of the Year winners, audio systems aren’t typically the deciding factor. Judges evaluate hull design, handling, safety features, innovation, and overall execution. But premium audio has become an expected feature in the best wake boats and luxury surf boats—and subpar systems can disqualify otherwise excellent vessels.
The Ultré ZX’s Boat of the Year recognition validates an important thesis: when you partner with the best in each category—Indmar for engines, Tigé for hull design and boat engineering, Audison for audio – you create something that transcends the sum of its parts.
This wasn’t just any award, either. The Ultré ZX has become one of the most awarded surf boats in recent history, also earning WakeWorld’s Innovation of the Year for the UltréLounge
and recognition as a 2025 Top Product by Boating Industry.
For two consecutive years, it has placed in the top three for both Best Wakesurf Boat and Best Wakeboard Boat categories at the WakeWorld Riders’ Choice Awards.

What Makes the Best Surf Boat Audio System

When buyers research the best wake surf boats or compare premium wake boat brands, audio quality increasingly factors into the decision. Here’s what separates premium marine audio from conventional systems:

Power efficiency

The Audison amps deliver maximum output without draining batteries—crucial for all-day sessions on the water.

True marine engineering

Purpose-built components withstand UV, salt, spray, and vibration that would destroy adapted car audio within months.

Full-coverage sound

Wide dispersion patterns ensure consistent sound quality throughout the boat and extending 100+ feet to riders.

Professional tuning

EQ curves optimized for open-water acoustics, not just maximum volume.

Integration with boat systems

Audio controls accessible through the helm’s touchscreen and steering wheel controls, not aftermarket head units.

The Audison 3D Sound System delivers all of this as a fully integrated, OEM-engineered solution, setting a new benchmark for premium wake boat audio architecture.

What’s Next

The Ultré ZX’s success creates exciting opportunities for both companies. Tigé is already applying design language from the Ultré across their lineup, including the new Z3 model. As they scale these innovations, Audison’s marine audio technology will reach more riders who demand premium sound on the water.
But the fundamental partnership remains unchanged: Audison brings 40+ years of pro-audio expertise, Tigé brings uncompromising standards for boat design and performance. Together, we’re defining what premium audio means in watersports.

Experience It Yourself

Reading about audio quality can only take you so far. The Audison difference needs to be heard.
